The Moving Arts Collective, Finding Rhythms and HMP La Moye celebrate the launch of ‘H.M.P His Music Productions’ album at listening party
We are proud to work in collaboration with HMP La Moye and UK-based music charity Finding Rhythms to celebrate the launch of the album ‘H.M.P His Music Productions’ at a listening party held at the prison. This event held on the 15th May 2024 marked a significant milestone in bringing creative musical opportunities to prisoners, showcasing the transformative power of artistic expression.

The album features original music written and recorded by the prisoners during a six-day workshop led by musicians Thabo Mkwananzi and Fred Harper from Finding Rhythms, and supported by Esther Rose Parkes from The Moving Arts Collective. The album's 12 tracks span diverse genres such as drill, rap, drum and bass, disco, rock, and acoustic, showcasing the creative talents of the participants and serving as a legacy for their experience.
The listening party was a joyous occasion attended by prisoners' family, friends and community partners, who gathered to support and celebrate the remarkable achievements of the participants.
Feedback from prisoners was overwhelmingly positive, with participants expressing a newfound sense of confidence, hope for the future, and enhanced collaboration skills. One participant shared that this had been “the best week of my life.”
